Seeing and hearing Derroll Adams play and sing when I was seventeen, was a personal and musical turning point. Since then I have been captivated by the possibilities of the banjo as an instrument. Whether used in traditional old-time music, bluegrass, Irish folk music, New Orleans or Dixieland jazz and swing, the banjo is as diverse as its music.
Different types and specifications are countless:
4/5/6-string banjos inspired by existing models, custom-ordered models
with custom-ordered decorations. The greatest effort and care go into
bringing the best possible voice out of the tightened banjo head of your
choice.
The
past twenty-five years I have built banjos ‘from all walks of life’ and
every time I finish one, for a brief moment, I am reluctant to part with
it.
